BLOCKSMITH

Home · Parents

For parents. The short version.

No account, no ads, no chat. AI is off under 13. What your child makes stays in your Minecraft folder, on your computer.

Blocksmith is a desktop app that makes files for Minecraft: skins, texture packs, buildings, small adventure worlds, pixel art and note block machines. Minecraft itself is a separate game, sold by Mojang. Blocksmith is not that game and is not approved by Mojang or Microsoft.

What it does not have

  • No account. Nothing to register. A plan, if you buy one, is a code you paste in. There is no username another person can find.
  • No ads. The app does not show advertising, and the website does not run an ad network.
  • No chat. There is no message box, no friends list, and no way to reach another player through Blocksmith.
  • No AI under 13. The first time the app opens it asks a birth year, keeps only “under 13” or “13 and over”, and does not ask again. Under 13, wishes are read on the computer. The sentence is not sent. A picture is not sent. A song is not sent.
  • Worlds stay yours. Files are written into your Minecraft folder or into Blocksmith’s folder in your user account. Uninstalling does not upload them anywhere, because they were never uploaded.

The longer version of what is stored, and what is not, is the privacy policy. The rules of buying are in the terms. Prices for a plan you use yourself are on pricing.

Gift codes

An adult (18+) can buy a code for someone else. They paste it into Blocksmith the same way as any plan code: Settings, the code box, save. The code looks like BS-XXXX-XXXX. It arrives on the page after checkout and in the receipt email. You give it to them. You do not give them your card.

These are the prices to set on the Stripe Prices. Checkout charges whatever Price id is configured on the server, so the Price should be this amount. Gift checkout stays in Stripe test mode until that is switched on deliberately. Nothing on this page creates a live product.

Plus for 3 months

$15.99 once

60 AI wishes a month, then it stops. It does not renew and there is nothing to cancel. The end date is about 92 days after the gift is bought, and pasting the code does not extend it.

Buy a 3 month Plus gift

Plus for 12 months

$49 once

The same Plus, prepaid for about a year: 60 AI wishes a month, no renewal. $49 is the same as a year of Plus bought as a subscription, without the subscription.

Buy a 12 month Plus gift

20 AI wishes

$2.99 once

A wish pack as a gift. The wishes do not expire at the end of the month. If they already have Plus or Pro, pasting this code adds the wishes to that plan instead of replacing it.

Buy a wish pack gift

A gift does not turn AI on for a player under 13. The code can sit in Settings, and the app still will not send a wish. That is the point of the age check living on the computer rather than on the code.

Buying is card details on Stripe’s page, through Link, which is the merchant of record. Blocksmith does not see the card. Refunds are the same as any other Blocksmith purchase: write to support@blocksmithapp.com within 30 days if it is not what this site says.

Questions

Does my child need an account?

No. Blocksmith has no accounts. There is nothing to sign up for, no password, and no profile.

Are there ads or chat?

No ads and no chat. There is no way to message another person inside the app, and no feed.

What happens under 13?

AI wishes are off. The app does not send the sentence, a picture, or a song. Skins, packs, builds, worlds, pixel art and note block songs still work, on the computer, from Blocksmith’s own reader.

What does a gift code do?

It is a Blocksmith code, the same shape as a plan code. Plus for 3 months or 12 months runs until the date and does not renew. A wish-pack gift is 20 AI wishes that do not expire at the end of the month. Pasting a pack code onto a plan that is already in use adds the wishes to that plan. AI stays off for players under 13 even if the code is entered.
