A sunset made of blocks
Made in Blocksmith from “a sunset over water, drawn as blocks”.

The source picture was drawn for this page inside the seed script: a sky that goes from dark blue to orange, a pale sun, and a darker band of water. It is not a photograph, not a film frame, and not a texture from the game. Blocksmith then matched each pixel to a block colour and dithered the error into the neighbours, which is the same path as dropping a PNG onto the app.
The grid is small on purpose, so you can see individual blocks instead of a smear. The page records how many blocks wide and tall it is, and how many different blocks the matcher used. A bigger picture uses the same code and more cells. Map art sites often aim at an in-game map item. This one is a wall of blocks, the kind you build with a datapack, standing up.
If you bring your own picture, you need the right to use it. Blocksmith does not check copyright for you. This sunset is here because we made the source, so the gallery is not republishing someone else’s photo as blocks.
